They are obviously scoundrels taking advantage of lone stragglers.
They are the same in number and arms as your group. It's not in your best interest to interfere, you have supplies you need. What would you do? This is a tricky one, so here is a description of what the consquence would be for each action. Choose the one you would think would be the best. Leaving the group can endanger others lives but will accomplish your mission.
Breaking the group up doubles your chances but also leaves each group vulnerable Staying behind exposes you to danger but gives your group vital information of other group activity Looking for survivors delays your mission and the groups needs Attacking the other group has uncertainty that no one can know what will happen.
